Our sander system upgrades can be a cost-effective solution where a train has a limited life remaining or when a shorter lead time is required.
Our upgrade package works can include the following upgrades:
Filtration and coalescer to remove particles and excess water from the incoming air supply to prevent corrosion and to protect sander pneumatic system
Sand valve casting with high velocity nozzle for improved sand delivery where higher quantities of sand are required such as in emergency situations
Hose re-routing to improve delivery performance of sand delivery
Replacement of the hose tail to improve sand delivery to the wheel/rail interface
Level sensors to monitor quantity of sand remaining in the hopper
EP Box replacement to improve reliability
For systems currently using an automatic fixed rate sander an EP Box upgrade to VRS is available. This allows automated sand delivery against the speed of the vehicle, to ensure compliance with Railway Industry standards.
